As someone who’s had a long history of depression, I’ve found that only one coping mechanism I’ve consistently turned to that has given me insight, respite, and guidance is reading. Books are cheaper than a therapist and just as reliable. From novels to memoirs to essays, I’ve found wisdom for any challenge life has given me. Whether I’ve read to identify or to find answers, I’ve always come away with something to help my personal well-being which in turn informed my own writing. The Bibliotherapy Podcast is a one-on-one discussion with an author about the emotional, challenging moments and situations in their work, their life, and the books they turned to for comfort and guidance.
